Seller agreement
Last updated: 15 July 2026
1. Introduction
This Seller Agreement governs your use of VivahMandi’s platform as a seller, and supplements our Terms of Service. By listing items for sale on VivahMandi, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. Eligibility
To sell on VivahMandi, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age and represent a genuine business or trade professional
- Have a valid Indian address
- Complete GSTIN/KYC verification, providing accurate GSTIN, PAN and bank/UPI details
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including GST and RBI payment-aggregator requirements
3. Listing requirements
When listing items, sellers must:
- Provide accurate descriptions and measurements
- Select an honest condition grade and upload clear, authentic photos of the actual item — not stock or manufacturer photos
- Disclose any defects, damage, or non-functioning parts
- Set fair and reasonable prices
- Only list items they own and have the right to sell
4. Prohibited items
The following items are prohibited on VivahMandi:
- Counterfeit or unbranded equipment sold as genuine
- Stolen goods
- Items that infringe intellectual property rights
- Unsafe or non-compliant electrical equipment (e.g. gensets, wiring, rigging hardware not meeting applicable safety standards)
- Items the seller does not own or have the right to sell
- Hazardous materials
- Items prohibited by Indian law
- Non-event equipment outside VivahMandi’s listed categories
5. Fees, tax and payouts
Listing is always free. VivahMandi charges a tiered success fee on each successful sale, payable by the seller — 0% for founding vendors through 31 December 2026, after which standard tiered rates (visible in your seller dashboard) apply. Payment processing charges may also apply.
As the e-commerce operator, VivahMandi collects Tax Collected at Source (TCS) under Section 52 of the CGST Act on the value of each sale, and any applicable TDS, and remits these to the government — they are withheld from your settlement, not a separate bill you have to pay yourself. You remain responsible for your own GST returns, income tax, and any other statutory compliance as a seller.
Payouts are released after the buyer’s inspection window closes without an open dispute, net of the success fee, payment processing charges, and TCS/TDS withheld. As we roll out automated settlement through our payment partner, payout timing may vary — check your seller dashboard for the current status of any payout.
6. Shipping & freight requirements
Sellers must:
- Arrange dispatch or pickup promptly after a sale, using one of the platform’s freight modes (local pickup, seller-arranged freight, or platform-coordinated freight) as set on the listing
- Use a trackable courier or transporter where practical, and enter the courier name and tracking number on the order once shipped
- Package and secure items appropriately for the freight mode to prevent transit damage
- Keep the buyer informed of dispatch and expected delivery timing
7. Disputes and refunds
If a buyer raises a dispute during the inspection window because an item doesn’t match its listing, you must respond (typically within 48 hours) with your side and any dispatch documentation. VivahMandi reviews the evidence from both parties and may direct a full or partial refund at its discretion — see our Refund Policy. VivahMandi does not operate a physical return-shipping process; disputes are resolved against listing accuracy, condition grading and dispatch documentation.
8. Account termination
VivahMandi reserves the right to suspend or terminate seller accounts that violate this agreement, receive excessive substantiated complaints, or engage in fraudulent activity. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice and a chance to respond before termination, except where immediate action is needed to prevent harm or fraud.
9. Data & privacy
Your KYC data (PAN, Aadhaar, bank/UPI details) is encrypted at rest and used only for verification, tax compliance and payouts. See our Privacy Policy for how we collect, use, share and retain seller data, and how to exercise your rights under the DPDP Act, 2025.
